Recently the team and I were getting ready to spend a few months in Bali. If you have
an Internet business, one of the perks is you have the freedom to travel.
So anyway, I went to get my photo taken for my passport.
Something interesting happened while I was waiting for my photos. A guy came into
the store and tried to sell books to the cashier and all the customers.
He had lots of books, and the guy was really pushy. He’d shove a book into your hands, then look you in the eyes and say, “Come on, buy one! If not for you then maybe for your kids.”
How many books do you think he sold?
Not a one. Zero. Zilch.
Finally, he packed up his books and, with a look of disappointment on his face, dragged
his big suitcase to the next store on the street.
And you know what? 97% of networkers try to build their business in the same
exact way.
Annoying everyone around you. Handing our fliers. Following the 3-foot rule. Pitching
to everyone and getting nothing but rejections.
You think it doesn't work? It works, but the real question is whether you know anyone
who would want to build a business by annoying friends and relatives? Not many, right?
No one in our team wanted to do it like that, and we still don't.
But thankfully we're living in the 21st century. There is a different way to build your business.
The Internet gives you the opportunity to find people who are actually interested in what you're offering. People who come to your business of their own free will don't bring problems and disappointment along with them.
